UV flexographic printing ink uses active diluents to reduce the viscosity of the system, so its viscosity may be higher than that of solvent based flexographic printing ink on the whole.

Although the viscosity of UV flexographic printing inks is lower than that of screen printing and offset printing inks, the addition of pigments will improve the viscosity, especially when the wetting, dispersion and stability of pigments are not handled well.

The characteristics of UV flexographic printing ink mainly include the following points.

(1) Safe and reliable, solvent-free, non flammable, non polluting, suitable for food, beverages, tobacco, alcohol, drugs and other packaging and printing materials with high sanitary requirements. UV flexographic printing ink has been used in the field of food packaging for many years without any problems.

(2) It has good printing adaptability, high quality, unchanged physical properties in the printing process, non-volatile solvent, stable viscosity, and is not easy to paste and stack plates. It can be printed with high viscosity. It has strong inking force, high dot definition, good tone reproducibility, bright ink color, firm adhesion, and is suitable for fine product printing.

(3) It can be cured instantly, with high production efficiency and wide application range. It has good adhesion on paper, aluminum foil, plastic and other printing carriers. The products can be stacked immediately after printing without adhesion.

(4) Excellent physical and chemical properties. UV curing process is a photochemical reaction process in which UV ink changes from linear structure to network structure, so it has many excellent physical and chemical properties, such as water resistance, alcohol resistance, alcohol resistance, wear resistance, aging resistance and so on, which are inferior to other inks.

(5) Low dosage. Because there is no solvent volatilization and the active ingredients are high, UV flexographic printing ink can be almost 100% converted into ink film, and the amount is less than half that of water ink or solvent based ink, and the cleaning times of printing plate and anilox roller can be greatly reduced.

Based on the above characteristics, UV flexographic printing inks have obvious advantages and development prospects from the perspective of environmental protection, quality and technological development.

Ceres UV flexo ink mainly has the following kinds of UV flexo printing inks to choose from.

(1) UV paper ink: fast curing speed, not easy to paste, high definition, bright color, bright and wear-resistant, good chemical stability, suitable for color fine product printing.

 

(2) UV polyolefin ink: suitable for PE, PVC, pet, BOPP plastic film and synthetic paper with corona treatment on the printing surface. It has fast curing speed, firm adhesion, water resistance, wear resistance and good printing adaptability.

(3) UV pearlescent ink: suitable for high-grade packaging and printing, with pearl luster and metallic luster, gorgeous texture, firm adhesion, and good printing adaptability. In addition to silver white, UV pearlescent inks also have a variety of colors and rainbow interference types.

(4) UV transparent ink: it is made of dyes or a mixture of dyes and pigments. It has strong transparency, bright colors and firm adhesion. It is suitable for the printing of vacuum aluminum plating, aluminum foil, silver paperboard, laser paper and other materials, and can obtain a similar hot stamping effect.

(5) UV glazing oil: it mainly includes paper UV glazing oil, polyolefin film UV glazing oil, matte UV glazing oil, hot stamping UV glazing oil and many other varieties. It has fast curing speed, water resistance and wear resistance. It can be online glazing or stand-alone glazing.

If your enterprise is using Ceres UV flexographic printing ink, the following related configurations should also be considered.

(1) Light source: UV light source is one of the most important factors that determine the curing speed and film-forming performance of UV ink. The selected light source must ensure sufficient power and UV light emission wavelength. At the same time, pay attention to the aging of the light source and replace the UV lamp tube in time.

(2) Anilox roller: when using UV flexo printing ink, the wire angle of the anilox roller is preferably 30 ° or 60 °. The following is the configuration of several commonly used ceramic anilox rollers.

200 lines / inch: 9.5 ~ 11.0bcm anilox roller, which can be used to print opaque field patterns.

360 lines / inch: 4.5 ~ 6.5bcm anilox roller, which can be used to print field and line patterns.

550 lines / inch: 3.0bcm anilox roller, which can be used for printing mesh tone image products.

650 lines / inch: 2.5bcm anilox roller, which can be used for printing mesh tone image products.

800 lines / inch: 2.0bcm anilox roller, which can be used to print fine mesh image products.

(3) Rubber roller: the rubber roller must be able to resist UV ink. The commonly used rubber roller generally adopts EPDM rubber (ethylene propylene diene monomer).

(4) Plates: Although the flexible photosensitive resin plates currently used can basically be used for UV printing, it is best to choose plates with good UV ink resistance, such as DuPont's uvp-67 plates.

 

(5) Safety protection: at present, there are two main protection points,

First, the harm of UV light source to human body;

The second is the harm of UV ink to human body. The former needs to use opaque materials to shield and seal the light source, and strengthen ventilation and emission treatment; The latter should wear gloves to prevent UV ink from directly contacting the skin. If UV ink splashes on the skin, it should be wiped dry first, and then cleaned immediately with soap and water.
